The two pronged rhinoceros golden tortoise is distributed from Jilin to Hainan, China, from the southeast coast to the the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau, and also in Korea and Japan. The double forked rhinoceros beetle is abundant in warm, humid, and vegetated areas. [10] The double forked rhinoceros beetle is mostly active at night, and its larvae mainly feed on decaying wood and humus; Adults have a diverse diet and prefer to eat the sap from the wounds of plants in the family Quercus, such as oak.
